Charlotte Catholic and Ardrey Kell advanced to the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association dual-team girls' tennis championships with wins Tuesday.
Charlotte Catholic beat Jesse Carson 9-0 in the 3A bracket and will host Ledford next week.
Ardrey Kell beat Southwest Guilford 9-0 in the 4A bracket and will host Lake Norman in the second round next week.
Providence High lost in the first round of the 4A bracket 5-4 to Northwest Guilford. Myers Park also lost in the first round of the 4A tournament 6-0 to Lake Norman.
